Abstract

Continuous improvement is an important part of the Quality Management Systems that allows improving the efficiency in all the processes that are developed in Higher Education Institutions and makes it possible to achieve a culture of permanent improvement. Postgraduate programs account not only for the quality with which they are developed, but it is also an expression of the institution's development and directly influences the other processes that are gestated in the university, therefore the research problem related to what actions is addressed develop strategically to achieve higher levels of quality in these programs that directly impact undergraduate training. The work that is presented aims to show the results achieved in the accreditation processes of master's degrees and specialties at the Universidad de Oriente, as a consequence of the scientific-methodological work developed with the academic committees and teaching staff leading to the fulfillment of the approved indicators. by the National Accreditation Board that endorses the ratification of the institution's Excellence category. With the use of pedagogical research methods, methodological guidelines were designed for the elaboration, implementation and evaluation of the results of the improvement plans of the Master's and Specialties postgraduate programs. The effectiveness of the proposed methodological methodological guidelines is evidenced in the increase in the number of Specialties and Master's degrees that hold a higher accreditation category, to which it is added that more than 56% are accredited with the highest category and on the other hand in their contribution to the improvement of the results in the evaluation of the university careers of the institution.
